- Submission to the 2017 Environment Effects Statement process by the volunteer members of the MTAG committee raised the alarm over a key fact that eluded Maribyrnong City Council in its submission: that this massive project would bring more trucks to Williamstown Road than it had ever had. It warned that Williamstown Road would become “the new Francis St of Yarraville with the status of carrying the most trucks on a residential street in the city.” - MTAG submission: Read here. 
PORT OF MELBOURNE CONTAINER LOGISTICS CHAIN STUDY REPORT
- 2021 report updates previous 2009 study that analysed how containers move between the port and its customers, including the role of empty container parks in the western suburbs. Its observations include a doubling of container movements to the western suburbs in the past 10 years; “latent capacity” for increased truck operations at nights and weekends; and an acknowledgement of air quality and amenity challenges in the inner west.
